Using MicroSD Cards for the HTC Thunderbolt

by Gareth Jale

The primary benefits you get from using a microSD card with a smart phone are going to be in the area of storage, since this is precisely what microSD cards are meant to do. If you're a gamer, you're going to want to have some extra storage. There's a bunch of games out there, and with a microSD card, you'll be able to save state, save snapshots, save all kinds of games and much more.

To do all of this, you're going to need memory; without any of extra memory, you won't be able to save too many games and video. Just as you can imagine, this can be pretty frustrating. Having a microSD card means that you never have to start from the beginning again unless you want to. This really makes the chances of finishing an individual game a lot higher, which is something that most gamers will come to appreciate.

But instead of just saving your game progress, you'll be able to save complete games. And not just single whole games, but you'll be able to save dozens of them. If you want to share them with friends, you can do so with the card. With the card, you can also back your games up on your computer. If you simply want to be able to try out a particular game on a brand new smart phone so you will know if you are wasting your money or not ahead of time, you can do that too. Essentially, you can transfer your data anywhere you would like to, but this is only because you have the microSD card. It is a gamer's best friend.

There are a few different advantages you can have if you get a mobile device and pair it with a microSD card to help your gaming out. These advantages are primarily in the area of storage, but if you get creative, you can find additional uses for the cards. Beyond the cards, other accessories that you might want to take a look at, like a screen protector and a case.

These are simple but effective ways to keep your smart phone looking sharp whether or not you plan to use it for gaming. Having a screen protector is a no brainer when it comes to using a smart phone with a touch screen, as this is going to be the most often touched, and it's also the most expensive part of the phone. It's worth spending a few bucks to keep it from scratching, denting, or cracking.
