This is still a bit disappointing, as in my car, mounting it on the windshield puts the phone up fairly high, which is why I wanted the vent mount. If you want a vent mount, I'd look elsewhere. The phone holder is click-adjustable and holds most smart phones and PDAs. The size isn't right for small feature phones. I have it placed on my dashboard and it is as tough as a rock. I had some mounts that would just fall of my vent and then my stuff would be everywhere. I like this product. For the price this is hard to beat.
The vent mount worked perfectly in my Honda Odyssey. My iPhone fit perfectly. I bought this after checking out the positive reviews from other purchasers. I'm happy to report that the smartphone mount lived up to the hype. After being installed the mount holds my phone at the perfect angle for using the Car Panel app on my phone for navigation and such. Also, this mount is much sturdier than most I have come across- a definite plus as most look like they'll fall apart in short order (and usually do).
If you have the extended battery or a case -- you are out of luck. I found this case to be a cheap, functional replacement.
I haven't used the A/C mount so I can't report on that. I've bought cell phone mounts before and they all turned out to be junk. I highly recommend this product, but just try to make sure your car model can use all of the attachments if you want the full experience. Rarely do you find a product with an innovative yet simple design. I took off two stars for the poor design of the clamps on the vent mount and the obviously harsh release button, but so far I'm happy with my purchase. Because of the way my particular vehicle is set up, I am not able to get this item exactly where I want it, but I can say that I am very pleased with the item.
I only use this when I'm using my phone as GPS or when it's on Bluetooth. Overall the product was exactly what I expected. And the best part is that it EASILY fits my Otterbox case.
