If I have a member of my family or friend in a prison and wish them to contact me, then it is possible with my V-Connect prepaid account. This service is offered by many companies to help the family or friend to set up a phone account, but the condition is that particular institution must be participating in the service provided by V-Connect.
V-Connect offers this facility and with my v connect prepaid account, the inmate can make calls even to numbers which have been blocked from receiving the calls from that particular facility. Sometimes, the inmate is barred from making such calls due to the telephone company having placed blocks. If the billing contract does not exist, the Value Added Communication or VAC does not allow them to make calls from the local telephone companies. The local telephone company is also not allowed to provide the inmates the service if the monthly billing limit is reached.
The inmate can then have a phone deposit set up by his family members and with my V-Connect prepaid account, he can help himself to the services of V Connect Advance Pay system. A prepaid account is created by paying the necessary advance amount and also submitting the number to which the inmate is going to call. Once this is done, the inmate calls you up and upon acceptance of the call; the company deducts the cost of the call as well as a certain amount of tax from the advance amount that you have paid them.
The family member can easily make this payment through credit cards, debit cards, cheque and so on. The amount that is to be paid by the user depends on the location of the inmate's institution and its istance from the family member's number.
Visa or MasterCard can be used to create my V Connect prepaid account and the minimum amount for opening a prepaid account is $25 whereas the maximum is $100. You can also make a phone deposit in Fl Doc which is for the inmates of Florida Department of Corrections. The Florida Department of Correctional institutions' inmates can make a phone deposit in Fl Do through Pay-Tel which provides them this service. The family members can set up a Family connection calling plan through their website in order to make a phone deposit at Fl Doc.
