Getting the Most Out of Your Smart Phone when You Drive

The speakerphone on the Droid 3 is a great feature if you do not have a Bluetooth enabled headset available. By using the speaker, to talk, you'll be talking you in a parental, but you don't have to hold your phone up to your ear. Add accessories such as the dash kit that keeps your Droid securely in place on your dash, or the headphones that may be used in conjunction with the speakerphone and you have a cellular device that does not require an expensive Bluetooth device for hands-free calling.

Voice activation is an easy to use feature available on this smart phone. With this feature activated, you simply open the phone application and select the microphone in the corner. Now, every time you say call and a contact's name, the phone will automatically call that person, eliminating the need to fumble through your contact list to find a contact to call. Voice activation is an easy to use feature available on this mobile phone.

GPS devices take up a lot of room on your dash, impairing your vision through the windshield. With thousand and thousands of apps available, you too can enjoy the features of GPS directly from your phone, and you don't have to sacrifice any windshield space. These apps provide the same features as a traditional GPS unit, like turn by turn directions and Points of Interest, however; you do not need to pay for another device, saving you money as well as ensuring your safety.

Bluetooth connectivity is quite possibly the biggest feature on this phone. When the Bluetooth on the phone is turned on, you can pair it with any other Bluetooth device, for instance, your car audio system or a Bluetooth headset. When your Bluetooth is connected your phone, you have the ability to make hands-free voice calls, as well as enjoy other features like the built-in media player and GPS, all streamed through the audio output on your vehicle instead of the speaker on the phone. With many states implementing laws against using cellular devices while driving, this is the perfect solution to prevent any unnecessary tickets.

This phone's media player is also great for this Android system. With this media player combined with an optional SD card, you have the ability to hold as many songs, pictures and videos that you may want. When you are driving, instead of using the speaker on the phone or needing to change out CD's, you can stream the music from your phone, either by an FM transmitter or a Bluetooth enabled audio system. When working a lot with the media player, you may want to use a charger or a battery to help your device constantly be powered during everyday use.
