Bought It Just Soon Enough - Cell Phone Vehicle Mount Review
I actually use this attached to my CD player section as I never use it. It works just as well as it did on the AC vent (I moved it because it gets way too hot here to only have one vent pointed at you and I felt bad using the passenger side vent). The suction cup for the windshield is nice and heavy duty and doesn't let go in the hot sun the way my Garmin will. The vent clip fits on both my old S70 Volvo and my wife's Audi but isn't quite as tight gripped onto the fins of the vent as I would like.
FURTHERMORE, the part that holds the phone slides on (AND OFF) the part that was supposed to hold on to the vent. So I suspect, although I did not try it, that it will slide off of the suction cup part too. My only drawback has nothing to do with the mount, but I wear gloves when I ride and my touch screen can't be changed with the gloves on. I originally was going to purchase this from another seller off of Amazon until I came across it on here.
It seems pretty durable. Please note, though, that if you live in a cold weather area (like I do) the suction tends to not work as well if you leave it out in the cold. I ordered the mount for my HTC Thunderbolt with an extended battery (so it's thicker than normal). I was hoping to use the vent mount, but the vent mount is pretty poorly designed. Usually they break really fast, while this one is struggling and the right arm sometimes does not move. It's still working just fine. My Evo has an Otterbox Defender case on it, so it's a fairly bulky piece of equipment for the mount to hold, and it does hold it fairly well. The clamps secure pretty snugly on the sides of the phone and it was only early on when I didn't realize I needed to tilt the mount back slightly so the phone isn't leaning forward that it ever fell out of the mount (only happened once). I'll just give it to a friend who has a Droid X and see how it goes with him. I really lucked out on this one. I know there is a HTC Evo dock designed for the HTC Evo but there are two problems with it, one it only works for the Evo itself and no other phones and two it will not work if your Evo has a case on it. I purchased this one, now I can leave my Otterbox defender case on and it will still fit in the mount, plus if someone else happens to be driving my car they can use the mount for their phone as well.
The only complaint that I have about it is that I bought it to use with my iPhone 4 and the back piece of the mount is just plastic and it has the brand name sticking out at the bottom. Easily got around this by stopping by the local hardware store and picking up a pack of those felt tip furniture guard things and placing them on there. If you want a mount for any smartphone, this is the product for you. I love this product and I use the vent mount on it.
Thought other consumers should be aware. Thanks for reading.
Conversely, the vent mount doesn't work in every vehicle. It won't fit on any vent in the Yaris at all. I guess for $15, I'm getting what I paid for. I'll keep looking for a better option.

The only issue I have had with this is that from time to time I have to readjust the swivel, especially after hitting a few bumps, but this is can be annoying, but is overall a minor issue and hasn't affected my overall experience. commercial coffee machine rental.
